Verusco-UCR Competition winner announced!
31 Jul 2008
It's been a long time coming, and we apologise for the delayed announcement, but the good people at Verusco have been toiling hard on the logistics of delivering and implementing a copy of their premier, professional grade Rugby Analysis System to one of USA's rugby-loving colleges.
For those new here, Verusco were kind enough to offer a copy of their flagship TryMaker+ package with a value of $9000 to a US college nominated by the winner. TryMaker+ is used extensively by the All Blacks and SANZAR Super 14, Air New Zealand Cup and South African Currie Cup teams.
To win this fantastic prize, all you had to do was submit articles to UCR, the more you submitted, the more chances you had to win.
After our little randomizing program went through the submitted articles up to 31st March 2008, a winning name was presented.
That name was Robert Campbell, otherwise known as "Rob" on the site here. Over the competition period, Rob submitted 8 articles, and is fittingly one of the oldest and most frequent registered members of UCR.
Rob's selected recipient for this fantastic prize was Harvard University, who has recently met with Ian at Verusco for a installation and run through. We hope the Crimson enjoy the benefit of the system and photos of it in use are to come soon.
Congratulations to both Harvard, and Rob for passing on this excellent prize to his old team.
A big thankyou must go to Ian and the team at Verusco Technologies in Palmerston North, New Zealand for offering such an amazing prize to the USA College Rugby community. Guys, this is honestly kit that the pros pay good money for.
Finally a big thanks to everyone else who entered in the competition and helped spread the good word on the game. Watch this space for more competitions soon!
Until then, keep sending us your news!
