22 Oct 2007
This week Kent talk's to Lauren Rodriguez of Sienna College. Like other ruggers Kent has interviewed, Lauren has discovered a game she truely loves and has met some wonderful people since becoming a player. Aswell as playing Lauren looks after her teams website http://lw.siena.edu/clubs/womensrugby/default.asp
KC: How long have you been playing rugby?
LR: I have been playing for almost four years.
KC: What influenced you to start playing rugby?
LR: I was looking for something to do that would allow me to make friends but stay active.
KC: What are the best things about playing rugby?
LR: The social aspect, where if you are wearing a rugby jacket people will come up to you and talk to you about rugby. Its people that understand you. Everybody thinks you are crazy (because you play such an intense sport) except for anybody that actually plays the game
KC: Do you think you will continue playing rugby once you have finished college?
LR: I hope I will just depends on where I end up in life and health insurance
KC: Who have been the biggest influences in your career?
LR: My coaches and my teammates.
KC: What's your opinion on the state of American rugby?
LR: I think there needs to be more rugby in America. I hate that only one channel gets the world cup and it plays the games pretty late. I think it is a great sport that many Americans would be interested in learning if there was more of it throughout the states.
KC: Would you like t represent the USA Eagles at any stage?
LR: Yeah I think it would be cool to represent them. I love to watch their games. I only wish I could attend some!
